RM800, 000 in damages and RM50, 000 in cost were awarded to Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim after Kuala Lumpur High Court found Papagomo Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris guilty for maliciously defamed the former.
However, Wan Muhammad Azri continued to deny that he was alleged blogger despite High Court Judicial Commissioner Rosilah Yop affirmed the former to be Papagomo.
“We may be similar in features, but I am not Papagomo. It’s like Anwar in the images that he has denied was him. I still regard Anwar as a serial liar and he should repent,” Wan Muhammad Azri was quoted as saying by Malaysiakini.
His counsel Jasbeer Singh Kaura said they would appeal against today’s decision.

Blogger Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris or Papa Gomo was ordered to pay RM800,000 by the High Court in damages for defaming parliamentary opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today.
Judicial commissioner Rosilah Yop in her ruling also said she found that Wan Azri is Papa Gomo.
Rosilah also allowed a permanent injunction by Anwar to restraint Wan Azri from repeating his libellous allegation in his blog.
She also ordered RM50,000 in costs to Anwar.
Anwar filed the suit on March 21, 2013, claiming that Wan Azri had posted four series of defamatory words on his website on March 16, 17, 19 and 20.
In his statement of claim, Anwar had said that Wan Azri had also set a weblink of pictures which allegedly were of him.
In his defence, Wan Azri denied that he was the owner of the “Papa Gomo” blog. He told the court that it was the opposition leaders who had now defamed him.

I’m not ‘Papagomo’, insists former cop
Testifying in the Kuala Lumpur High Court today, former police constable Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris denied that he is the infamous pro-Umno blogger ‘Papagomo’.
This was despite another blogger Mohd Fauzi Mohd Azmi – who goes by the handle ‘Perisik Rakyat – having earlier testified that Wan Muhammad Azri is indeed ‘Papagomo’.

Mohd Fauzi claimed that he had called or texted ‘Papagomo’ several times and had once met him at a bloggers convention in Subang Jaya.
“I attended the Bloggers United Malaysia conference on May 16, 2009, where I met him and other bloggers. I know it is him from the text-messages and phone calls I made.”
Mohd Fauzi said he had photographed Wan Muhammad Azri, 30, at the convention. The photos were tendered as evidence.

Papagomo is among a group of elite bloggers who have direct links with Umno leaders. He was on board the KD Tun Razak when then defence minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi invited Penang Chief Minister Lim to tour the controversial submarine in 2011.

The High Court’s finding against former police officer Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris aka Papagomo and ordered him to pay RM500,000 in a defamation claim yesterday will boost respect for the law among rogue bloggers, says lawyer N Surendran.
This would certainly strengthen the multi-million ringgit defamation suit that Opposition Leader Anwar has filed against Wan Muhammad Azri, who is better known as the blogger Papagomo.
“Papagomo is another tool of Umno to defame and publish scandalous, fake news about the opposition and we welcome the court decision to end dirty politics and his defamatory lies,” Surendran told Malaysiakini.

Surendran, who described Wan Muhammad Azri as “the worst kind of blogger… vulgar and dirty”, confirmed that Anwar’s case against Papagomo would go to trial in January next year.

Besides ordering him to pay RM500,000 in a defamation claim, Judicial Commissioner Vazeer Alam Mydin Meera is also moving him for contempt for a previous posting ‘Justice for sale’, which implicated the presiding judge and considered prejudicial to the judiciary.

Vazeer called the 30-year-old blogger a liar as despite the denial made on the stand, Wan Muhammad Azri had in his defence statement admitted that he is he one when pleading the defence of fair comment.

The Kuala Lumpur High Court declared today that former policeman Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, who has been convicted of graft, is the blogger Papagomo and ordered him to pay RM500,000 in a defamation claim.
This decision is expected to open the floodgates against Wan Muhammad Azri, who has denied that he is the controversial blogger.

Infamous pro-BN blogger Papagomo had announced his retirement from mainstream blogging early this week, reports Malay language daily Sinar Harian.
“I’m done. That is what Gomo can say about the struggle under the name Papa Gomo blog name. Let new bloggers shake the world,” wrote the Malay daily in it’s article, quoting the Twitter account @PapaGomo believed to be operated by the blogger.
The blogger believes that there will be many more competent pro-BN bloggers that will continue to fight the good fight.”Gomo wants to focus on my clothing business. Anyway the fasting month is near and time to look for extra cash,” the blogger supposed tweeted.
Papagomo, or Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris as he is alleged to be, previously made headlines when he posted steamy videos purportedly of prominent opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim.
Papagomo currently faces a RM100 million defamation suit from the opposition leader for the materials he posted, and the case is expected to be heard early next year.
Anwar has named Wan Muhammad as the owner and operator of the Papagomo blog, though the exact identity of the blogger is still shrouded in mystery as the latter continues to deny that he is the infamous blogger.
Papagomo had previously warned that he has more videos of Anwar, releasing snippets of pictures and short clips alleged to be of the Pakatan de-facto leader, promising more tantalising expose’.
However, should his “retirement” prove to be true, this may be cancelled, if not postponed.

On March 21, Anwar filed a RM100-million defamatory suit against Wan Muhammad Azri for allegedly posting a series of defamatory remarks on the http://www.papagomo.com blog on March 16, 17, 19 and 20.
He is seeking general, aggravated, exemplary damages and other relief deemed fit by the court and an injunction to restrain the defendant from continuing to post such remarks and images.

Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, who was sued by PKR adviser Anwar Ibrahim over the posting of a sex video linking him with another man, today denied that he was the owner of the ‘Papagomo’ blog.
In his statement of defence, which was filed at the Kuala Lumpur High Court yesterday, Wan Muhammad Azri, 30, said the house address stated in Anwar’s suit was also not his and that he did not know the plaintiff in a personal capacity.
He further denied having posted defamatory remarks or images against Anwar and said he had no malicious intention to tarnish Anwar’s reputation as alleged by him.
Anwar’s lawyer Mohd Afiq Mohd Noor told reporters that in today’s proceedings, Judicial Commissioner Lee Heng Cheong set June 5 for case management.

“Although you (Rafizi) have instructed your little fish, Bucks, to deactivate his Twitter and Facebook accounts, I have been keeping records of your close relationship with Bucks, including your action on Skype with him every night,” said Papagomo.
“If you lose in Pandan, then this issue is over. However, if you win then I will expose these interesting materials of you and your little fish,” he added.
Papagomo said Bucks has since deactivated his Twitter account ‘bucks17′. He then shared screenshots of Rafizi’s old tweets to Bucks, one which read: “Ha3 but I visit u every night at Skype!”.
“To the rakyat, especially Pandan voters, realise that this PKR candidate is a bisexual and we should reject those who are gay from being our leaders,” said Papagomo.

Papa Gomo wants new lawyer to defend case against Anwar
KUALA LUMPUR: Blogger Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, better known as Papa Gomo, wants to appoint a new solicitor to defend a defamation suit filed by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim against him.
Anwar’s lawyer Muhammad Afiq Mohamad Noor said Judicial Commissioner Lee Heng Cheong was told during the proceedings in chambers that Papa Gomo asked for time to file his defence statement as he was involved with work in the general election.
Muhammad Afiq also said they had served the claim to the blogger’s solicitor Jasbeer Nur & Lee on April 18.
He said the court has set May 21 for mention.

APRIL 5 – You know it is definitely silly season when elections are in the air and a blogger decides he is good enough for national politics.
It happened in 2008 and it is happening again.
This time, pro-Umno blogger Papagomo has decided to throw his hat in the ring and challenge Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the general elections soon.
The blogger tweeted this afternoon his decision to fight head-on against Anwar who dreams of becoming Malaysia’s seventh prime minister in national polls.
“I have made the decision to stand in this GE13 against Anwar Ibrahim,” he said in Malay on his Twitter account, @PapaGomo.
I wonder why bloggers have a propensity to think too much about themself. Papagomo proves this with his decision to enter politics.
This blogger is apparently a convicted crook and has the temerity to offer himself as candidate. Please lah, tell me another tall tale already.
Has he run out of innuendos and videos already?
We should end this nonsense of such bloggers and the people who pay him for what he can only do – run down people and smear their reputation.
After all, we already have enough crooks in the system. One more would just reflect our collective stupidity.

BN’s sex blogger sacked from force for bribery, confirms police

Mar 28: The police today has confirmed BN supporter Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, who runs the explicit blog Papagomo, was a police officer who was sacked after a criminal conviction.
The statement by the police comes as a response to the discovery that Azri had been still listed as a postal voter despite being no longer a policeman.

“On September 6, 2012, the officer was found guilty and was sentenced. Then a disciplinary committee proceeding was taken against him and this officer was sacked effectively on September 6, 2012,” said police spokesman Mortadza Nazarene.
“Thus, this officer is no longer listed in our record as a postal voter,” he added.
Earlier, Harakahdaily reported that Azri’s name is listed as a convict on the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s online database showing those guilty of bribery.

The police force says blogger Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, better known by his pseudonym Papagomo, was no longer postal voter once sacked from the force.
In a press statement issued today federal police headquarters (Bukit Aman) director of management Mortadza Nazarene said Wan Muhammad Azri was charged in court on Oct 31, 2005, and subsequently found guilty.
After his conviction was upheld on Sept 6, 2012, Mortadza said, a police disciplinary proceeding held the same day sacked Wan Muhammad Azri from the force.
“Following this, he was no longer listed in the police records as a postal voter,” he added.

In the case of the infamous Umno blogger, PapaGomo or Wan Muhammad Azri bin Wan Deris, it is sad that even Tun Faizal, the chairman of Umno’s Unit Media Baru (or Umno sponsored bloggers), has decided to distance the party from him.
PapaGomo’s personal life has been dragged into the limelight including his ex-wife Bellina Chin and their two children who need our sympathy for their present predicament due to his wild blogging antics. Wan Azri was once an ordinary man, a loving husband and responsible father.
“Previously PapaGomo was not egoistic and big headed like nowadays. There is a story saying that he was an ex-policeman who faced disciplinary action,” Tun Faizal wrote in his article.

PETALING JAYA, March 26 — The ex-wife of “Papa Gomo” will soon testify against her former husband in court, and is expected to reveal the controversial blogger’s identity and details of how his pro-Umno blogsite was set up, PKR’s Rafizi Ramli claimed today.
The PKR strategy director also exposed more evidence to prove his earlier claim that “Papa Gomo” goes by the name Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, was formerly a convicted corrupt policeman and a phantom voter.
He said his evidence and the court testimony of the blogger’s ex-wife Bellina Omar Sharifuddin Chin should sufficiently expose the dirt behind the true identity of “Papa Gomo”, a blogger allegedly hired by the ruling party to discredit opposition leaders using cyber warfare.
“Right now, the most famous fugitive in the country is Papa Gomo. But he claims he is not Papa Gomo,” Rafizi told a press conference at PKR’s headquarters here.

Immigration records show that pro-Umno blogger Papagomo, by the name of Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, holds the same immigration records as the latter, PKR claimed today.
PKR director of strategy Rafizi Ramli said today that immigration records showed that the civilian and police identity cards (ICs) of Wan Muhammad, both share the same birth date.
Rafizi showed records that for both identities, Wan Muhammad holds a birth date of Jan 21, 1983 as per immigration records dated in 2010.
Although one of the records did not reveal that both the identities shared the same international passport, Rafizi claimed that there is court correspondence proving that Wan Muhammad’s address for both identities is in Danau Kota.

It looks like Prime Minister Najib Razak, who allegedly spent more than RM100 million ringgit to build up an Internet presence for himself and for attacking political enemies such as Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim, has bungled again.
This time Najib’s misjudgment, and the ensuing negative impact to his Umno party, comes from enlisting bloggers and cyber-troopers of dubious credibility to do the ‘dirty’ work for him and Umno. Papa Gomo, whose name is well-known after a series of false and fabricated expose’s against Opposition members, has been exposed as a ex-cop, convict and phantom voter.

However, Anwar is not Papa Gomo’s sole target. The Umno blogger had previously painted DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng as wishful of wanting to create a Christian state in Malaysia, with himself as the first Christian prime minister. The posting allowed the Umno-controlled mainstream media to launch an all-out assault to tarnish Guan Eng and his hold on the Penang state government.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 23 – PKR will stand by its allegations against pro-Umno blogger Papa Gomo, strategy director Rafizi Ramli said today, adding a warning that the party will soon reveal more evidence to prove the identity of the man behind the controversial blog.
The PKR leader also appeared to brush aside the denial by a man claiming to be Wan Muhammad Azri who told Malay daily Sinar Harian on SMS that he was not Papa Gomo as claimed, but a chief executive of a media firm.
“Whatever it is, he is panicking,” Rafizi told The Malaysian Insider on WhatsApp this evening.
“All he can do now is deny he is the person, but this will drag and more evidence will come forward to prove otherwise,” he added, ending his sentence with a smiley-faced emoticon.

Yesterday Rafizi alleged that Papagomo is registered in both Ampang, Selangor and Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur using the latter’s civilian and police ICs numbers respectively.
“Our check this morning with the Election Commission (EC) website showed that the record registered under (the police IC) has been deleted as shown in our screen capture (top photo),” said Rafizi in a statement today.
“This proves that Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris @ Papagomo is the same (in both voter records) and had been registered as a phantom voter. That is why the record has now been deleted from the postal voter list,” he said.
Wan Muhammad was a former police officer who was suspended from duty and convicted of corruption, and the decision was upheld by the Court of Appeal last year.
Rafizi’s earlier check with the online database with the blogger’s IC numbers gleaned from various official documents, showed his name registered in two constituencies, one as Wan Muhammad and the other Wan Muhd, both with differing birth dates.
However, Rafizi maintains that it can be corroborated that the two belong to the same individual.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 23 — Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, the individual that PKR identified yesterday as pro-Umno blogger Papa Gomo, has come out to deny the allegation, claiming instead to be the chief executive of a media firm.
In an SMS to Malay daily Sinar Harian yesterday, Wan Muhammad Azri confirmed that it had been his MyKad number that PKR strategy director Rafizi Ramli had used during a press conference yesterday when checking on Papa Gomo’s past records.
But he insisted that he was not the controversial blogger, who was earlier this week sued by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for posting photographs from an allegedly fake sex video.
